Proposals will be accepted up to and no later than 5:00 p.m. local time, April 22, 2009. All proposals shall be publicly opened as soon as is reasonably practicable during a regular scheduled Meeting of the Board of Trustees on April 22, 2009 beginning at 6:30 p.m. You are invited to attend.

Proposal Conditions:

BISD reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.

BISD is exempt from the Texas State Sales Tax.

BISD reserves the right to waive minor specification variances and award the proposal in the best interest of the district.

Specification packages will be available in the district office located at Brookesmith Elementary School, 13400 FM 586 South, Brookesmith Texas, 76827, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on school days. For additional information, please contact the person listed above.

REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE SEALED PROPOSAL

 

The contract will be for the 2009 – 2010 School year and will include summer floor maintenance.

Please make your proposal for janitorial services to be provided 3 days a week, (normally Monday, Wednesday, Friday) after 6:00 p.m.

Proposer will provide a list of holidays observed by company

Brookesmith ISD will provide all paper products, trash liners and hand soaps. The proposer will maintain a record at Brookesmith ISD to inform the school district when the above mentioned supplies need to be reordered.

Proposer will provide all cleaning supplies and equipment as part of the proposal submitted for janitorial services

o Daily services

o Sweep and mop all hard floors

o Vacuum all carpeted areas

o Spot clean interior windows

o Empty all trash and remove to dumpster

o Clean and sanitize drinking fountains

o Clean and stock restrooms

o Dust mop new gym floor

o Turn out lights and secure building

o Weekly services or one time per week

o Thoroughly vacuum all carpeted areas

o Dust furniture

o Spot clean desktops

o Sanitize desktops (very important during flu season)

o Damp mop new gym floor

o Clean Community Recreational Facility

o Clean old gym

o Services onetime per year

o Scrub showers

o Wax hard floors as time permits during Christmas and Spring break

o Steam clean carpets

Summer floor maintenance consists of the following:

Stripping floors and providing one coat of sealer and six coats of wax in the high school hallways, elementary school hallways and the cafeteria building hallways and lunch room.

High school classrooms, elementary school classrooms, and two rooms in cafeteria building; moving furniture out, stripping floors, and providing 1 coat of sealer and 3 coats of wax, moving furniture back in correct place.
